What to do with prayer-request emails?

This is a question which actually gives me such trouble.

I mean, obviously you can’t delete them immediately after reading. That’s just a recipe for forgetting all about them.

But can you delete them after they’ve hung about for a few days? Or is that pretty much saying “ach, I’ve cared about you enough to pray for a few days, but not so much now”?

If you were to print them out, would that not be going against environmental stewardship of God’s creation? And then you’ve still got the same problem of where to stash the paper.

Or if you take notes and then delete them, how sure are you that you’ve got down all the pertinent points?

I’ve currently decided that I’ll label all such emails “prayers” and archive them, but I have a sad feeling that I may forget to check the folder very often.

Though I know it probably is, surely it’s not just me that spends way too much time considering the ramifications of pressing the “delete” button and aiming for a clean inbox?

About

I no longer post here, really, except sporadically, so come say hello at Baking and Life

I post what I like and I like what I post. I am a law student, which kills my spare time, but I somehow manage to find time to bake and to knit and to see people. Occasionally. I could pencil you in in about 4 months, perhaps? FYI, I dislike closing paragraphs in html tags. For more about me, try the About Me page
